The ESEC/FSE 2011 Welcome reception will be held in the newly renovated central building of the University of Szeged.
The Welcome reception will be preceded by a free organ concert in the Votive Church. This cathedral is one of the most distinctive buildings in the cityscape. The most monumental work of 20th-century Hungarian Ecclesiastic architecture, it is the fourth largest church in the country.
The ESEC/FSE 2011 Gala dinner as well as the whole conference will be hosted by the Study and Information Centre/Congress Centre of the University.
Optional program: Ópusztaszer National Historical Heritage Park / the Feszty-panorama
Enjoy a journey into the Hungarian past, brought to life in a 136-acre theme park. In the park visitors can experience life in a 19th century village, learn trades of the past, and meet old breeds of livestock and domestic animals.
The main attraction of the park is the Feszty-panorama, a monumental circular painting presenting the Hungarian Invasion of 895.

Optional program (free): Visit to the Computer Science Museum of Szeged
The museum offers a unique exhibition about the history of informatics with an outstanding collection of “artefacts” from the world of computer science.
